done tri-ing!!

i'm done with my tri-athlon and my tri-nity of races for the year! today was the Osim mini-tri and i successfully completed it. yay me!

ok, so for most people, 200m swim isn't much to holler about... but it was a personal challenge for me. so much so that i *almost* didn't start the race this morning cos i kept on picturing how bad it was last year. and then i was really close to calling for a rescue. i think it's a peer thing..when people around you start calling for help, you begin to rationalise that it really isn't so bad for you to be calling for help. of course, then it becomes purely mental - to see how far more you can go before bailing. thankfully for me, the shore came before that point!

anyhow, i *think* i did better than last year, i still had some energy left to run part of the 2km. we shall see. results aren't out yet. my only concern is that i heard them call out the wrong number when i passed the u-turn on the bike. they called 952 when i'm 953. so we'll see if they still give me a time or if i'm DNF cos they didn't get me down at the u-turn. good news is that 952 didn't even start the race, so i can always argue that in my favor.

anyway, today was hectic and tiring. here are some pics from the race... my whole family turned up to show their support. even my grandma who had to take a cab over (and then walk some way cos the roads were closed) came to watch the action. dawn, vanessa and carrie-ann also came down to support dawn's bf, myself and some other friends who were all racing today, which was awesome!! =) was nice to see smiling face while you're racing.. =)

hope you can see the pictures. for some reason, i can't view any of the pictures on my blog from my computer, altho kale can see them fine from his work computer.
hmm..

tomorrow's another busy day. kale has his looooong tri tomorrow morning, and then we have a farewell bbq for one of kale's friends, jim, who's moving to dubai.

enjoy da pics!
