nervous..

so i'm really nervous. on 2 fronts.

the first is pretty obvious - the tri is tomorrow. *biting nails*
i started getting really anxious over dinner once i recalled how bad the swim last year was. kale reassures me i'll be fine... but i'm still really worried about the swim. i'll heave a huge sigh of relief the minute my feet touch the firma terra again!!

dawn, vanessa and carrie-ann are coming down to show their support. also helps that dawn's bf is doing the sprint length right after my race. kale will definitely be there for moral support and to take pics. he has also promised to bail me out in true "baywatch" fashion, complete with shirt-tearing and slow-motion running if i get into trouble in the water. and he had better keep his promise.. i'm holding him to it.

the second is a little less expected. i'm going back to school, of sorts. i got approval from my company today to register for a part-time graduate certificate course. so i'm going to submit my application on monday, and if all goes well, the next 9 mths are going to be pretty crazy. (9 months has sooo many meanings, does it not?) the course is 2 semesters, starting in august, and will be complete with exams and all. i'm kinda nervous about juggling work with studying again. and to add to that, i'll be in a new job so i'll have to juggle that too. i guess in the long run it'll do me good. and the good news is that while there's a bond associated with the company funding my course, it'll run concurrent with my current one so there's no skin off my back.

today was pretty intense trying to put all the pieces together so that this course would happen. it all happened so quickly that i didn't really even have the time to think about the enormity of what i've signed myself up for. it's going to be a totally different lifestyle for me for the next few months. and i was going to talk to kale about it first before going ahead with talking to my company, but first i thought the intake was over, and then i thought i'd not get a chance to get funding... so i just thought there wasn't a point to talking about it. but today, suddenly the pieces fell together, and i had to make a few quick decisions. we talked over dinner, and he's supportive (phew!) which is impt cos i can see how this can get a leetle stressful.

anyhow, time to take a shower and get some rest for the beeg day tomorrow. wish me luck!
