weekend is here.. and almost half over.

man, time flies. it's saturday evening. which means that the long-awaited weekend is finally here.. and also half over. sigh. having class on saturday really cuts down on the fun quotient in my life. no more late nites out on friday (which isn't too bad, cos i don't usually head out at nite that often) but even worse, no sleeping in on saturday mornings! sob sob. and when you have a hubby that has races waaaay early on a sunday morning, that means NO sleeping in at all on the weekends! AAACKK!!

had an ultra long day of classes today. started at 9:30 and didn't end till 2:30. *groan*. the afternoon was pretty much a waste of time. it was a training session on using a search database (sort of like lexis nexis).. and the first 30 mins were pretty useful, but then it quickly went downhill from there. the class is made up of graduates, so we've all done research before.. and not to sound like some arrogant asshole, but i would think that the average joe would know how to use a boolean search from using google or the like. it DOES NOT take a full additional hour to teach us how to search for a particular word string. especially given the fact that we were already given a handbook.. *fumes out loud*

but anyhow, yes, i realise they were trying to be helpful and equip us with the necessary tools, so i shall be gracious and not complain anymore about the waste of time that was the 2nd half of the training session. i have to say the class is rather useful though.. i'm learning a bunch of facts that may not be relevant to the job, but are just cool things to know.. like the definition of "freehold land"... =)

anyhow, the hubby has another race tomorrow.. so we're getting up early. we were supposed to drive up to malaysia today for another race, but the haze in KL is too bad (it's way beyond hazardous on the PSI index) so they canceled it. will post pics up tomorrow. we're also going to go for a dip in my parents' pool, and then head out for my sis's farewell dinner with the extended family. it's going to be a packed day. and i hope to get a tan one way or another tomorrow. am beginning to look really pasty... and we all know that the fairer you are, the more light you reflect, and hence the fatter you look. i'm all for getting a tan!

time to go take a shower.. and then hop into bed. whoopee....
