a nite of farewells

phew. today was a looong day. and technically it's still going cos i'm not in bed yet.

got up for work as per normal.. and surprisingly had a bunch of meetings today, so that kinda made the day whizz by. had lunch at carl's jr. had their western bacon cheeseburger, and i have to say that when a burger joint, eat their burgers. it's way better than the fish sandwich i had there on tuesday. WAY better.

started moving my barang (stuff for those non-singlish/malay speakers out there) from my current cube to my new one at work. think a change of feng shui will do me good. everytime i've changed cubicles, work has gotten better. heh.

met the hubby (who was surprisingly decked out in color-coordinated cycling jersey and socks today) at home and then headed out to jim's place for his farewell. he's heading out to dubai for 3 years. kale's really kinda bummed that one of his friends is leaving - especially one that's pretty close to him.. but i guess that's life. no one really is in your life as a permanent, eh? didn't take my camera with me, but suffice to say that there was good company and good food. too much good food in fact. i ate too much laksa and had a tummy ache.

i left there around 10 and hopped a cab to clarke quay for a colleague's farewell at a club down there. i have to say the place is awesome! not crowded, not too smoky, and plays good music. oh yah, and there's free flow on friday nites of vodka for ladies. which, of course, given my non-existent alcohol tolerance, doesn't do me much good.. but still.

had a whale of a time dancing and singing along. i could do this for free in front of my tv at home, but somehow the atmosphere just ain't quite the same. hmm. i just got back and am about to hop into the shower to wash away the grime and to get the smoke out of my hair. kale's still not home.. guess the bike talk was just too much of a draw to leave... am glad he stayed with them instead of coming with me. this way, he enjoys his evening with his friends, and i with mine. perfect.

so all in all, a good, if long day. gotta get up early for class tomorrow. here's hoping i can stay awake for 3 hours of lectures on company law. will let you know tomorrow how that goes!
