bizzeeeee....

it's been crazy around here.. so i apologise for the lack of activity on my blog. here's a quick run-down of the past couple of days just in case you're even remotely curious as to what we've been up to.. not that our lives are THAT interesting, but we ARE halfway across the world from most of our family.. so i figure more info is probably better than less, huh?

last friday we decided we were going to bail on salsa - kale cos he wasn't happy with the instructor, and me just cos it was getting boring and too much like the class we had before. that and the fact that we just weren't into it. soooo... instead of salsa, we caught "Madagascar" the movie.. it was good. short, but good. the penguins were hilarious! not much of a plot but it was a feel-good, entertaining movie with very american-centric humor. (i now know i will probably never have a future career as a movie critic.. sigh)

kale then went home and had an early nite while i headed out to Thumper for Cheryl's (my colleague) farewell. after 4+ years, she has finally decided she's had enough and is moving on.. am happy she found something else that she wants to do but i'll sure as heck miss her! she was in stanford the year before i got there and was in the same class as kale for a semester.. so i guess in a way, we had a lot in common.

i'd heard so much about the R&B and hip-hop music they play at Thumper but to be honest, the music that night was kinda slow, the band wasn't all that great, and there was just a lot of techno. the rest of the gang was slowly getting inebriated (as a matter of fact, most were already halfway there by the time i arrived). after dancing for a bit and having one of my colleagues almost pull down one of the bar tables, i took my leave and headed home around 1am totally sober.

woke up the next morning at 10am or so with the smell of smoke still in my hair despite a thorough wash (euuughh) .. kale came back around 11am and then we headed over to my grandma's for her b'day celebratory lunch. she liked the blouse we bought her (score!) and since it was her 80th b'day and her b'day was on a saturday for a change, we thought we'd join in both lunch and dinner. was kinda cool at lunch cos i honestly can't remember the last time i joined in her b'day lunch.. must be before i went away to college!

after packing up the bikes and stuff in the car, we headed out to Furama for the b'day dinner.. 'twas a buffet so that means more food!! *groan*.. my cousin brought her baby so everyone took turns carrying her around. think my grandma was in 7th heaven having all her grandkids and great-grandkid around her! kale and i left early to drive up to KL since he had a race the next morning.

will write about the race and this past week tomorrow... for now tho, it's bed time.. and the hubby is hinting not-so-subtly that it's late.. so i shall take my leave and ramble on more tomorrow....

today's the princess's birthday though.. so thought i'd at least leave her a b'day wish on here...
