video killed the radio star
i'm married to a radio star. ok, so maybe "star" is a little bit of an exaggeration, but my lovely husband was on the radio this morning for a total of about 10 mins. it was meant to be a piece on the upcoming diabetes triathlon and why it's important for diabetics to exercise, and how diabetics can (in the words of my lovely hubbby) "do anything any normal person can". however, thanks to the not-so-clued-in DJ/host, it turned into a "diabetes for dummy" session, where the physiologist present explained the difference between type 1 and type 2 and how hypoglycemia can happen etc...
so, while it didn't quite turn out the way we expected it to, it was still quite cool to hear someone you know on the radio.. and speaking intelligently and intelligibly, at that. so good job, hon.. you make me proud. =)
there was also a lot of trouble this morning trying to ensure that he got himself to the radio station in time for the show. throw in morning peak hour traffic, cum heavy rain, cum lack of taxis, and busy taxi telephone lines, it took him almost 45 mins to get himself a cab.. think he made it in by the skin of his teeth.
so that was the dramatic start to the day of our very own celebrity. kale's back to being just another one of us.. back at work.. good news is that it's already the afternoon, and not long before we can meet up for dinner!! yeay!! food!!

Yeah, not quite what i thought it would be, and much shorter than we planned, but i think it was still better than nothing.
It was a bit annoying because as i was explaining something i could see the host repeatedly looking at the clock and then not so focused looking back at me. I know she's got a schedule to keep but it was still rather distracting.
Anyway, that was my morning. now i'm back at my ho-hum desk.
Yeah, but both of you are getting the word out that we can all have great lives! Keep on Swimmin', bikin' and runnin'.... ;) Mom
