In case you're wondering...
I'm not slacking off at work by blogging. Honest! I just happen to have a bad case of diarrhoea (which I believe is also affectionately known as the "squirts") and have been sent home on a MC. What a start to a work week. Would have been great had I been able to get my MC early in the morning and hence have a whole day at home in comfy proximity to a toilet, but that wasn't to be. Had to help cart heaps of undistributed brochures from the convention center back to the office.
Believe me, heaving heavy packets of brochures with a weak stomach is waayyy fun. Not. Anyhow, only got to the doc after lunch, and am now home... nursing a yucky feeling in my stomach.
So yeah, my version of the race (after reading Kale's techy one) is this...
- he broke away with 3 other guys (2 white, one asian)
- one of the 2 white guys doesn't usually do much work. this time around both did cos they wanted to win and this was their only chance. kale's team doesn't really care if they do win cos they're not high on points.
- asian guy also doesn't usually do any work in a break, but he too can really benefit from being 1 of 4 guys.. so he's working. kale's team DOES care if he wins cos he's #1 right now.
- so yeah, group cannot continue like this cos if they do, asian guy will sprint and win and get more points which is a no-no.
- so the break slows down and pack catches up so mr asian guy is now stuck with having to sprint against everyone else. mission accomplished of sorts.
that's the "uneducated-female-roadside-observer" version of the race report. i think Kale's version is far more accurate.. but i like mine better. you can be the judge. i'm sure it'll at least give kale a laugh cos it's sooo not PC.
ok, time for medicine and bed. bleah.
was going to go out tonite to celebrate our "anniversary" (the day we officially started dating vs the wedding anniversary *yes, the poor man has more than 1 date to remember...*) but since i've been told to eat bland and avoid anything rich or dairy, guess that's pretty much nixed my original plans. so we'll see what tonite brings then...
