Busy Weekend....

So it was a crazy crazy weekend.. which explains the lack of blog entries for a while. Kicked off the weekend on Friday evening (hey, that's Singaporean for you, we're so kiasu we'll try to get in before everyone else!) with the movie "sideways". Was a good movie. Think it made both Kale and I miss Cali a little, but no worries.. sooner or later, we'll find ourselves there, or at least close.

Saturday morning was a blur with picking up the car and food for the shindig on that evening. Went to da shop with da husband so that he could get his time-trial bike put together. What was supposed to be a half-hour to 45 min trip turned out to be an hour and fifteen minutes long. Bleah. Here's a picture (one of many) that was taken as he tried to get the aerobars right.

So his bike is back from the bike doctors, and we have one more resident in the bike room. Sigh.

Saturday nite we had a couple of Kale's friends over. 11 to be exact. Entertaining is tiring, dude! It happened to be John and Jim's b'day so after copious amounts of curry chicken, bread, rice, braised duck (chicken and duck courtesy of mom) and other goodies, the girls brought out the b'day cake. And man, was it SOME cake!!

The humongous b'day cake

Yup, 2.5kg of pure mango madness... it had to be that big to fit the 2 bikes on.

and one of the "road"

They left, we cleaned up and fell into bed. Woke up today for church.. and then met Dawn in an attempt to get our butts in gear for the impending triathlon that we're both sorta committed to doing. The hubby's working on getting a tri set up in May so that leaves us 13 weeks to get ourselves to a minimum level of fitness.

We went swimming at the Keppel club. Kale came along for the ride.. probably more to laugh at our sorry asses.. but still, he provided good company. Had planned on doing more, but incoming rain clouds, thunder and lightning soon saw to that. Quit after 6 laps.. hit the showers and then proceeded to chow down on deep fried chicken wings and fries. Yup, that's Dawn and Denise's approach to exercise... exercise a little, eat a WHOLE lot.

It's that time again. Yup, the dreaded sunday nite. This is the week of the dreaded career fair (egads) AND on top of that I have to defend my memo at a management meeting first thing tomorrow morning. *GROAN* Am so not prepared for it... time for bed, gotta get up early to read through my notes. *yawn*

G'nite y'all..

Heh... he's not singaporean so food isn't an integral part of his lifestyle.. make that THE integral part of anyone's lifestyle.

By the way.. we're still thinking of a "name" for you.. working on it. Will hopefully have one by the next time we see you! =)
