first cycling race of the year

It was the first cycling race of the year. A criterium at Changi Biz Park. And it was a hot, humid and uncomfortable affair. Ugh. BUT the good news is that there were relatively few crashes, and the hubby came out 2nd, thanks in part to his teammates. Congrats babe! Not bad for the first race of the season.. =)

The race itself was pretty boring (sorry, babe, but it was...). It was 50 mins of riding round a really short course + an additional 3 laps. The first couple of laps were pretty exciting cos they were simply flying! Then a breakaway happened, and Kale was in it...and the breakaway stayed away for the rest of the race. hmm.

After the 7th or 8th time they came by, I quickly began to lose interest and starting getting really aggravated at the hives that had started on my legs cos of the heat. The weather was highly uncooperative. It started drizzling, there was no breeze so it was just really muggy. The heat started coming off the ground and just made everything worse. Ugh. I was sweating my ass off and was itching so bad cos of the hives. Everyone looks really civilised in the pictures, but we were all feeling equally uncomfortable and hot. Bleah.

Anyhow, the highlight of the day was when Kale realised his BUTT was cramping! hah. Didn't know butts could do that!

Back to work tomorrow. bleah. Where did the weekend go? sigh.
