Perth
So, Vanessa is off to Perth for a vacation. Lucky her! There's just something about Perth that appeals to me. You would think I wouldn't, given that it's kinda slow-paced and all the shops close at 6pm most days. But it really is a nice, relaxing place to visit. Plenty of sights within a few hours drive e.g. Margaret River, Kalbarri, Albany, Pinnacles, etc that look nothing like downtown Perth. And even if you were to stay in downtown Perth there's always King's Park and Swan River to chill and hang out at. Oh yah, and not to mention the lovely town of Fremantle. I first visited Perth on a geography school trip when I was 15 and I guess I've liked it ever since..
So yeah, I was just thinking about Perth. My mom has been suggesting that we take a family vacation together sometime - but we just never got around to it due to my sister's school schedule (those damn exams get in the way) and Kale and my shortage of leave (we take quite a bit of time off for xmas each year and bike races). But this time around, we're making plans WAAAY in advance so that we can definitely make it for a family vacation next year.
We're thinking of Perth in May/June next year when Selene's back from school for her summer hols. We may have to work around her internship, but we can probably work something out. May will also be nice in Perth cos it'll be cool but not too cold.
Perth is also not too far from here so we won't have to spend too much time traveling. There's plenty of shopping for my mom, sis and I (Carousel mall, here I come), plenty of beaches/natural scenery for my mom, sis and I, plenty of good food and golf for mom and dad, and plenty of wide open roads for the hubby to cycle on. So all in all, it's really quite an ideal vacation spot. The peanut will also be 9-10mths old by then, so she should be able to partake in some of the fun and be easier to manage.
Heh.. one more thing to plan for! =)

Frankly speaking, when I heard that my in-laws might be coming next year, my mind starts thinking of wat to do with them liao. Dun wanna spend time crop up with them at home. Would rather bring them to another country to broaden up their narrow mindset.
Tentatively, I told V that we should bring them to Gold Coast to visit his cousin, Laurence, and her brood :p
perth was a blast!
i'll give you a list of where to go proper when it's closer to the date.
