More on sleep..

We took Meredith for her 3 mth jab this past friday, and we were bracing ourselves for a cranky, possibly feverish baby over the weekend. But who knew? Instead of becoming crankier, she morphed into angel baby for the weekend. She slept for 8 hours straight on Saturday night. Yes, you read that right - 8 hours!!! Damn! Of course, I woke up about 5 hours in with pretty bad engorgement wondering what time it was. Dragged myself out of bed to pump and decided to just pump till I was comfortable on one side as I was convinced she'd wake up asking for a feed shortly. Of course, she proceeded to sleep for another 2 hours, and I was left lying there, half-asleep listening for every twitch, wondering if she'd wake up cos I was getting engorged again. Doh!

Then on Sunday night, she slept for 6 hours straight again! This time around, I actually managed to sleep through the entire thing! phew... and our stroke of good luck lasted on Monday where she fell asleep in her stroller (for the first time) during lunch, and then proceeded to fall asleep again in her car seat not once, but twice! We're talking about someone who used to hate her car seat and refuses to be put down in the stroller.. so my mom and I were really amazed.

But, sad to say, she's back to her usual sleeping routine -ie catnaps throughout the day that don't last long unless she's being carried - and last nite she was back to her usual sleep schedule of 3 hour sleep stretches or so. Oh well... it was good while it lasted.
