ahhh vacation!

so yesterday was a blissful do-nothing-much day! we drove out to the airport with Alysha to pick up the rental car. that was a pretty good start to the day since the rental car company was out of compact cars and offered us a chevy venture (aka BIG van) for the same rate.. so of course we took it! so now the 2 of us are driving around in this huge minivan (think larger than the toyota picnics and honda oddesseys back home) and fooling everyone into thinking that another 4 people are going to jump out of the back of the van!

we drove to pick up the test cake to try out the frosting (frosting good, cake kinda mushy) so we'll have to give her some feedback that she needs to cook the cake more!

headed off to folly beach to check out the rents' houses.. the 2 houses are a hop, skip and jump away from each other so that's great... couldn't have worked out better! it's a little like hawaii down on folly beach.. plenty of surf shops, very sandy and very very laidback. now it's all about watching the weather channel and holding our breath that hurricane jeanne doesn't hit here too bad... it's supposed to hit around here sometime monday.. and folly beach is what is considered a "barrier island" so we might have to move inland to ride it out.. but it should hopefully be nowhere as bad as florida! *cross fingers and toes*

headed out to the waterfront in the city just to veg.. and then it really felt like vacation! ahhh....bliss!
