i'm a bad, bad girl...

sigh, i feel like such a slacker.

it's my parents' anniversary today. and it TOTALLY slipped my mind. i had to be reminded by my mom who called to say they were going off to bintan today cos my dad booked tickets there.. and i was like "huh? what? why such short notice??" then it hit me. see lah, i'm such a bodoh.

and to make matters worse, my sister who is ALL THE WAY OVER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD and suffering through midterms knew about this and blogged about it. AND I talked to my mom like late last nite too.. man, do i feel like such a loser.

my only defense (since i'm studying law, i might as well make use of the lingo).. is that i've been bogged down as heck with work and studying and had class last nite till late. yes, yes, i know.. no excuse. *bad girl, bad girl*

so anyhoo... for what it's worth..

happy anniversary mom and dad!

just a question though.. are anniversaries celebrated by other people? i was surprised to receive several emails, calls and cards on our anniversary from both sets of parents and from kale's relatives.. which was a really nice surprise. i never thought of anniversaries as events like birthdays are.. i thought they were just between the couple. hmm. guessed wrong there.

oh yah, and i DIDN'T know that anniversaries came with presents. DAMN! =) i thought they were just days to celebrate with each other... so anyhow, i've inadvertently given up my right to presents in the future.. our deal is that we will not give presents to each other, but we shall instead splurge on something we can do together. the hubby is relieved since that way he can never forget the date.. and i'm relieved cos buying presents for him is such a pain in the arse.

i actually had friends who used to send "happy anniversary" cards to their couple friends on their anniversaries. but bear in mind, we were only in college then, so it's not like they were even married. quite creepy, ain't it? hmm.....
